How to contribute content or responses
We aspire to be a clearinghouse for a wide range of voices from the ASLS/MND community, and are always looking for contributors.

If you have a response to a posted piece, please send it and we will consider it for the site. Respectful, evidence-based exchanges of views are what we are hoping for.

If you have an idea for a topic you think we should explore, but are not interested in writing about it yourself, just drop us a line with your proposal.

If you have a proposal for a submission that falls within an existing category on the website, send us a brief (200-300 word) precis that includes your thesis, how you intend to develop its, and why you think it is significant to the ALS community. If you are proposing a piece in an issue-area we have not yet addressed, include in your precis explaining why that issue area is significant.

Submissions may be advocacy pieces arguing for a certain position or policy, or analyses that consider evidence and viewpoints without taking a predetermined position, or reflective essays. Whatever the style and approach, the submissions should be thoughtful, evidence-based, open-minded, and relevant. Submissions that engage in polemics, ad hominem attacks, conspiracy theory, or anti-science will not be considered.

We want the site to be a venue for longer-form analysis and discourse, to get beyond the staccato style of social media posting and allow writers to fully develop and explore an idea. We place no length limits on submissions; much depends on the topic being addressed.

The site is principally meant to serve as a platform for contributions from PALS and caregivers, we welcome content from all, and intend to solicit contributions from researchers, policy makers, and those working in other disease groups.

Submissions will be reviewed and accorded one of three responses – accept, decline, or revise and resubmit. We reserve the right to provide editorial input on all submissions to improve clarity of the piece. We will endeavor to provide a response to all submissions within two weeks of receipt.
